Welcome
Varberg Mahjong Society proudly invites to Swedish Open MCR Championship 2026
Social & Accommodation
We of course hope that the Swedish Championship will be a really fun mahjong weekend – not just at the competition tables, but all around them too!
🍕 Friday 30 October – Social Mahjong at Folkets Hus
From 6 pm we're hosting a relaxed evening of Social Mahjong for everyone who wants to get a head start on the weekend, meet old and new mahjong friends and get in the right mood for the Championship. We'll treat you to pizza slices and live music – and above all, lots of mahjong.
🌊 Saturday 31 October – group dinner at Fästningsterrassen
After Saturday's games, you'll have the chance to book a seat at a group dinner at Fästningsterrassen, located on the west side of Varberg Fortress, between the fortress wall and the sea. The restaurant itself describes its location as one of the best in Sweden, with views across the Kattegat.
There are several restaurants and stores within walking distance of the venue.
The marvellous hotel and spa Gästis will give you 33% discount on room and breakfast when booking at least 2 consecutive nights during the period. Online booking only via https://boka.hotellgastis.se/ with discount code: MAHJONG.
Some of the people of Varberg Mahjong Society are opening their homes for sleepover guests, limited places. Please contact Ingrid-Maria +46 721864396 or e-mail ingridmariaerlandsson@gmail.com for more info.
