Mahjong vacation

Ingrid-Maria E. 2026-07-13
Ironically, I recently joked that I was going to be as cool as Anders and take a one-month mahjong vacation. Well… that didn’t quite happen. 😄
Instead, today I played four games in four completely different and wonderful locations:
🏖️ Game 1 on the beach with Marie N, Pia B, and Martin.
🏡 Game 2 at Maggan’s house with Martin and Maria.
🏙️ Game 3 on Marina’s rooftop with Marieke and Alma.
🌳 Game 4 in a little fairytale grove at Vicky’s place in Tofta with Maria and Danne.
My results were perfectly balanced: one first place, one second place, one third place, and one fourth place.
This is probably what I love most about mahjong—not just the game itself, but the people, the places, and all the memories made along the way. ❤️🀄

Welcome to the blog

Welcome to our blog!

For a long time, our website has been the place to find statistics, rankings, and tournament results. It will, of course, continue to be that—but from now on, it will be much more than that.

This blog is where you’ll find stories about what’s happening in Varberg Mahjong Society. We’ll share news about tournaments, game nights, visitors, special events, and everything else that makes our community so vibrant. We hope the website will not only present numbers but also tell the stories behind them.

This week has been a great example of just how active our community is. Many of our players have recently returned from the European Mahjong Championship, where Alma Klasson achieved an excellent result and finished as the top player from Varberg. Congratulations, Alma!

We also had the pleasure of welcoming Floor from the Netherlands, who visited our Mahjong Kafé and played two games—leaving Varberg undefeated.

Meanwhile, mahjong continues to thrive throughout the Varberg area. Games have been played at Rödlix Camping, at the Eklund family’s home, and today players will gather again at Kolonin. It’s wonderful to see mahjong being enjoyed in so many different places by so many enthusiastic players.

We hope you’ll enjoy following our blog and checking back regularly to see what’s happening in Varberg Mahjong Society. This is just the beginning!
